Lucas Johnson's distinctive, youthful, and unmistakable compositions radiate a vibrancy and boundless energy, driven not by rules, but by his inner yearning and passion. His vision for nju:zone was to transcend genre boundaries and create a new kind of jazz music. An authentic sonic identity with which NJU:ZONE aims to reach a broad audience and connect with music lovers of all kinds. 

With his debut album Lucas Johnson was selected as a cultural ambassador for the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Association and represented Baden-Württemberg at the international music trade fair "JazzAhead" in 2019. The quartet has also performed at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, the Langnau JazzNights, the Offbeat Jazz Festival Basel, and JazzOpen Stuttgart.
