Drop Bear is an electroacoustic trio, at the intersection of electronic beat music, improvised music, and jazz. With a shared love for heavy grooves, electronic soundscapes and melodies that stick, the band performs both original compositions and open improvisational passages where form, groove, and texture are central. Their interplay is explosive, as the three rising-star musicians have a history in various known projects such as I LIKE TO SLEEP, Bliss Quintet and Alex Ventling Wavemakers. Drop Bear was featured in the Oslo Jazz Festival ‘jazz talent’ and has played central stages in Norway. Key inspirations and references for their music include bands and artists like The Bad Plus, Jojo Mayer / Nerve, Elephant 9, Brad Mehldau & Mark Guiliana.
